Breaking into a brothel, police found an orangutan that had been forced into sex slavery for 6 years to the point that it lost its natural survival instincts.
Pony belongs to the endangered Kalimantan orangutan, it was discovered in February 2003 in a brothel on the island of Borneo.
Orangutan Rescue found Pony chained to a wall and lying on a dirty mattress wearing cheap makeup.
The unfortunate Pony had to endure sexual abuse for so long that he no longer resisted and was always in a state of resignation.
Local palm oil farmers mercilessly exploited Pony as a sex slave.
It took animal rights activists nearly a year to save unfortunate Pony from sex slavery.
Michelle Desiles, Director of the Orangutan Rescue Foundation, said: `It’s terrible. Pony is treated like a sex slave. Her body is covered in pimples, is covered in lipstick and wears earrings like
The campaign to rescue Pony began in 2003. Animal rights activists were horrified to learn what the animal was being used for.
There were many attempts to rescue Pony from the chains of sex slavery but to no avail.
No one knows when Pony was captured.
Initially when Pony was taken out of the brothel, men were not allowed to approach the animal because so many injuries had left a serious mark on it.
While situations like Pony’s are extremely rare, orangutan populations are still in danger.
