Samsung Galaxy S10+ has three ROM options: 128GB, 512GB and 1TB.

Assuming you have enough money to buy it, now the question is what you can do with this dinosaur-configured Galaxy S10+.

12GB RAM

Android’s RAM manager is quite complicated.

The 1TB model of the Galaxy S10+ has 12GB of RAM.

Ignoring general performance and GPU requirements… devices need at least 3GB of RAM to run most heavy games.

The problem with RAM is not whether you can run an application or not, but how many applications you can keep in memory before old applications need to be removed to make way for new applications.

According to calculations by editor Gary Sims, AndroidAuthority page: For Android smartphones, 4GB of RAM is an acceptable level, 6GB and 8GB are the best, and exceeding 8GB would be wasteful and redundant.

After using the Galaxy S10+ 12GB RAM version, Sims’ opinion has not changed.

To test the usefulness of 12GB of RAM, Sims ran an application, recorded the amount of resources used, and continued running other applications until it ran out of memory.

Starting from 8601MB of available RAM, Sims runs RAM Truth, Smast Hit and Asphalt 9. The remaining RAM is reduced by 1.5GB, down to only 7034MB even though Asphalt 9 is quite a heavy game.

Next, Sims runs Color Bump and the smartphone starts using zRAM swap memory at 1MB.

Sims opens Waze, Fortnite, Microsoft Office, Google Photos, Chrome (with 10 tabs open) and Happy Glass.

In conclusion, the 1TB Galaxy S10+ can hold at least 20 applications in its 12GB RAM, including 5 heavy games that are very RAM consuming.

1TB ROM

The two main properties of ROM are its capacity and speed.

With 982.9GB, the ROM memory of the Galaxy S10+ is really huge.

Testing the overall ROM performance of a device is quite a difficult job.

Therefore, ROM testing (often called Input and Output testing, or IO testing) is often divided into four divisions: Sequential Write, Sequential Read, Random Write and Random Read.
